Here are the details: 10th Annual San Francisco Zine Fest Stop by and say hi! ::::::: 7.07.2011: Neighborhood News Volta Press merchandise is now available at the brand-new Oaklandish store in Downtown Oakland! The store is located at 1444 Broadway (right near the intersection of Broadway and Telegraph) and is open Tuesday-Saturday. Our next-door neighbors, Vice Chocolates, have a new Facebook page - check it out for updates on where to sample their wares. Linden Street Brewery and Periscope Cellars are one step closer to opening a joint tasting room in Jack London Square - stay tuned for details! ::::::: 5.06.2011: First OAR is tomorrow Our friends at Rock Paper Scissors Collective are hosting the first ever Oakland Art Ride on Saturday, May 7. The event begins at RPS at noon and branches out all over Oakland. To mark the occasion, Volta Press Spokes cardsets and "You're the Best" antique bike cards will be available at RPS all month long. ::::::: 10.12.2010: Neat, New Letterpress Prints We just finished a collaboration with illustrator Ben Catmull; he created a set of three illustrations that we then letterpressed as two-color 10" x 13" posters. Ben's work is truly spectacular, and we're honored to have the opportunity to work with him. Check it out here. ::::::: 8.2.2010: We're Busy Summer Bees It's been a busy summer so far at the Volta Press studio! We've letterpressed tons of neat projects (CD covers, film art, handmade books), plus we're printing some truly beautiful stuff for upcoming fall weddings. On top of that, we're expanding! In the next couple of weeks, we'll be taking over the little studio next to ours and turning it into a design office. Once Wed is a gorgeous site designed with the DIY bride in mind, and our letterpress work was recently featured in a post on Katie and Nathan's Big Sur wedding. It's been a crazy couple of months, with everything from the holidays to our honeymoon to a whole new line of letterpressed merchandise, but all things letterpress are coming along fabulously! We're happy to report that we have new wedding designs and a new issue of Beeswax Magazine upcoming, as well as an open studio pending for early April. We're still working out the details, but check back soon for particulars. Volta Press takes over the Berkeley Public Library Books Unbound exhibit: September 1-14 in display cases throughout the library. (NOTE: The library will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.) Artists' Reception: Saturday, September 5th, 2-3pm in the Historic Lobby. Meet Beeswax editors Laureen Mahler and John Peck and browse a selection of books and wares from Volta Press. Outdoor Reading: Tuesday, September 22nd, 8pm on the front steps of the library.
